Robin Karr-Morse Discusses Scared Sick

The Urban Child Institute is proud to offer an opportunity to meet noted author Robin Karr-Morse, and hear her discuss her compelling new book, Scared Sick. This meeting is open to the public, but since seating is limited, please RSVP by calling (901) 385-4242. JoeAnn Ballard spent her childhood as one of 45 foster children being raised by her great aunt and uncle in rural Mississippi. This experience turned out to be one of the best things to happen to her; saving her from an unhealthy home and showing her what love and care looked like.
An ongoing cohort study of Shelby County mothers1 suggests that eight percent of pregnant mothers may regularly experience high levels of prenatal stress, placing their babies, and their early cognitive development at risk.
